Background: Four years after its initial opening, restaurant Del Cambio wanted to renew its approach to show its growth and achievements. We retired the previous, more conceptual, single websites—one for each of the three eateries that compose Del Cambio and the corporate site—in favor of a new installment. The presence of a back office platform was also fundamental to make the company management autonomous for day-to-day updates.
Highlights: We combined four different websites (Corporate, Restaurant, American Bar and Gastro-boutique) into one platform, so we needed to distinguish each component while maintaining visual coherency. The background colors became the distinctive elements. For example, we used black for the more obscure Bar Cavour, and pastel, coupled with a buttery background, for the jollier and sweeter tasting house Farmacia Del Cambio.
Challenges: Organizing the incredibly extensive and rich content into a comprehensible sitemap. In other words, streamlining the user journey. To do, so we decided to develop a generative layout together with a specific page builder.
Favorite details: The transition between the pages, where custom sentences and illustrations are presented. Designing and developing a corporate website may sometimes generate an “alt” to creativity, but it was fun to find the small areas where we could sneak some Easter eggs in, resulting in a more enjoyable experience in the final product.
Technical features: The project was challenging both for its magnitude and for the technical tasks we were required to implement. To generate a product that could be autonomously manageable by Del Cambio, while fulfilling our studio standards, we implemented custom Wordpress API and placed a layer between front and back end that enabled us to integrate our usual workflow with Vue.js and Firebase.
