Background: The site showcases my design work in an interactive environment, enabling it to thrive and entice both potential customers and future employees. I also needed the site to be easy to update for my expanding portfolio. I wanted to showcase my creative process in an interactive way. The site is simple, intuitive and usable with a minimalist design.
Favorite details: The subtle over effect is something we are very proud of—it’s similar to my personal work with pixel sorting and glitch aesthetics. Visitors can discover it by browsing projects. Moving the mouse more and more increases the effect. It’s a small but impactful detail that tees up the experience.
Challenges: The main over effect and transitions between screens. Kevin had to search for and adjust the great balance between my needs, various site prototypes and performance. We worked very closely on these aspects.
Navigation design: I wanted something simple and intuitive. We created a fast system that focuses on content.
Technology: On the back-end side, we used the Craft CMS and the plugin CraftQL—based on GraphQL—to communicate with the front end. The front end is based on Vue.js/SASS with the Apollo library to query data from the back end. The animations were made on the GreenSock Animation Platform, and we used scalable vector graphics for most of them.
