A St. Louis–based importer of fine Italian goods, DITALIA was born when founder Vincenzo di Piazza got sick of not being able to find the high-quality Italian food he was accustomed to. Enamored by the commercial possibilities of the Internet, di Piazza’s son Vince di Piazza brought DITALIA online, enabling customers to purchase goods and create custom gift baskets. Courtesy of St. Louis–based design firm Almanac, DITALIA received a bright, bold new site that visually references both the vivid colors of traditional Italian art and the swirled patterns of cured meats, oil and vinegar, and Italian marble. 

One of Almanac’s goals with its redesign was to integrate lifestyle content throughout the site. Working with e-commerce platform CommerceV3, the design firm linked DITALIA’s new WordPress blog to its online store. The lifestyle content includes videos of Vince di Piazza meeting with featured Italian producers, photos of the team and photos of recipes featuring DITALIA’s imported products. The site has landed DITALIA several local retailer partnerships and coverage from food publications in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
