Part of a continuing promotional campaign that began in September ’06, this site features unique behind-the-scenes footage of the U.S. Air Force. It gives young people (16 to 24) an insider’s look at the different people and skills that make up this armed service unit. Videos, photos and interactive features are the highlight of v.2.0 of the site; the main objective was to create a navigation (a left side nav accesses groups of floating thumbnails) that communicated the vast amount of media content available.

• The site consists of 140 videos, 115 images and 7 interactive features. Each video is available for download in QuickTime, PSP and iPod formats.

• With 140 videos and 115 photos, the site consists of well over 1,000 files. Each FLV video requires several to support it: the thumbnail image representation, the download versions of the video and the XML data that holds the title, description, average rating and tag information.

• Concept development of the redesign for 2.0 started roughly two months prior to physical mock-ups. Once the new concept was approved, production of the site took just over four weeks.
