International business law firm Dottir focuses on assisting companies that operate in the field of technology and media. For its site, designers and developers Nate Van Der Ende and Johanna Lundberg created an elegant site that showcases the firm’s talents, with elegant video content by creative firm KLOK. A single scrolling page offers Dottir’s mission statement and professional referencers, while a sideways-scrolling news ticker keeps visitors up-to-date on the law firm’s latest activities. “Most law firms have a pretty dull online presence,” says Lundberg, “but Dottir wanted to bring some fun to its site since it works almost solely in the creative sector. Elements like the sideways news ticker and pop-up references add character and keep prospective clients engaged.” Van Der Ende and Lundberg left most of the content editable on the site as the firm continues to expand, and built a small custom CMS that allows Dottir to update its site with ease. “Instead of getting Dottir to learn how to use WordPress or Squarespace, we went for a custom solution that only does the things it needs in a really obvious way,” says Van Der Ende. “That way, anyone in the office can update the site and ensure that the content stays fresh.”
