Baseball fans are obsessed with record keeping, and the Eephus League encourages this habit by offering fans a collection of stylish baseball-related journals and items that break down the elements of baseball statistics into beautifully designed components. Designed by Eephus League’s owner Bethany Heck and developed by Phil Moody, the site offers an elegant e-commerce platform for the brand, as well as a feed of information, photos and baseball ephemera on the homepage, providing an online love letter to the sport of baseball. “I think the most defining feature of the site is the number of premium web typefaces it uses,” says Heck. “There are seven in total, which is highly unusual in an age where few sites use even three. I wanted the site to properly reflect the aesthetic of the Eephus League brand, which is influenced by vintage designs with typefaces that were often cobbled together haphazardly.” Each different type of post on the hompeage features a different style, making each tile stand out while simultaneously using similar design elements that provide the page with a cohesive look.
