Background: The main purpose of creating this website was to promote and tell the story of the Warsaw, Poland–based historic Hotel Europejski and its renovation. Also, this is a way to present the offices and retail spaces that are to be leased out. The target audiences are potential clients interested in renting high-class offices and boutiques, clients and potential employees for the hotel.
Highlights: The transitions between subpages are quite impressive and they present different parts of the building in an interesting and engaging way. Graphic design, typography and selected colors are connected with the interior design of the hotel. We wanted users to feel that special atmosphere of that extraordinary place.
Challenges: The most challenging aspect was a lack of materials connected with the new release of the building (not historic materials). Everything connected with the building post-renovation building was entirely top secret. We even had to use event stock photos, which we normally don’t do, but in this particular case we had no choice.
Favorite details: We are really proud of the site’s overall effect. The shape of the building and the graphic design are great, but I think the site’s animation and transitions make this site stand out.
Technical features: The use of WebGL shaders to unveil the building. Moreover, the transitions between subpages using 3-D objects and three.js technology makes this website unique and technically advanced.
