When it came to redesigning his portfolio site to target art directors, Zadar, Croatia–based illustrator Filip Peraić had a specific goal in mind: answer every question as directly as possible. “My goal was to remove unnecessary obstacles that may stand between clients and myself,” he says. “I want potential clients to have a rich experience hanging out on my site.” Upon landing on the homepage, visitors are immediately treated to a rich amount of content; illustrated thumbnails—with some animated GIFs sprinkled throughout—invite visitors to explore Peraić’s case-study pages, featuring work for clients such as Forbes, IBM, Nike and Sony. A “Making Of” page shows a behind-the-scenes insight into Peraić’s work process with video content; currently, visitors can watch him make a portrait illustration for Forbes out of dollar bills. The most important detail? The portfolio site’s “Contact” page always shows the current time in Zadar—“a tiny detail,” Peraić says, “but a pretty important one when having meetings.”
