One of Napa Valley, California’s iconic Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, Freemark Abbey chose to celebrate its 130-year-anniversary by renovating its estate and propelling the winery to a world-class destination. San Francisco–based design firm Chen Design Associates (CDA) overhauled Freemark Abbey’s website with an alluring, timeless design, embodying the winery’s classic heritage as well as its direction in the future. For the site, CDA art-directed new photography that encompassed the vineyards’ sweeping scenery to communicate the relaxed elegance of visitors’ experiences. A timeline of historical photos and facts acts as an introduction of the winery to viewers, providing deeper information for those willing to dive into the winery’s history. An e-commerce platform provides a filterable list of Freemark Abbey’s wines—sorted by varietal, vintage, collection and price—that enables customers to select wines based on their preferences. The site goes hand-in-hand with the estate’s transformation, and its timelessness reflects the winery’s desire to inspire future generations.
The creative agency’s new site amazes and stupefies visitors with interactive animations.
