Based in Seattle and manufacturing in the United States, Fruitsuper imbues its designs for everyday objects with the beauty of function and utility, drawing inspiration from simple, playful shapes and straightforward materials. For its online presence, Seattle-based design studio Civilization created a site that conveys the breadth of Fruitsuper’s work—not only its design sense, but also its founders’ positions as curators, design thinkers and educators. Two user paths represent the product design studio’s duality: One side of the site directs visitors to Fruitsuper’s shop. The other introduces visitors to the studio, its inspiration, philosophy, events and collaborations with other artists. A rapid number of images on the landing page reflects Fruitsuper’s eclectic influences and enormous love for design history, and the site’s hoverstates feature a plus sign, a circle and a square—the playful interaction of shapes that Fruitsuper has become well-known for. Civilization’s site design has helped the product design studio’s reach grow exponentially.
