Background: Hive is a large business development on the outskirts of Reading, United Kingdom with grade A offices and easy access to different major cities by train. With a quarter of the space already leased to Nokia, Hive was looking for a web presence that would attract a similar level of client to the other units.

Highlights: With some stunning grounds and recently remodeled buildings being a major selling point, we felt it was important to create a site that was focused on photography, so we were careful with our use of space to give these as much impact as possible.

Challenges: The biggest challenge was working with detailed maps, tables and specifications. We took every opportunity to make this kind of information engaging with subtle pieces of animation, as well as ensuring that the site would be suitable for both tablets and mobile devices.

Favorite details: The level of finish we’ve been able to achieve, both in terms of animations and imagery. But we have to give the client a lot of credit. Hive recognized that its audience expects quality and nothing less. It supplied us with a brilliant mixture of photography and 3-D renderings and gave us the sort of creative freedom every studio relishes.

Navigational structure: We tried to work with two levels of navigation, a quick navigation and a feature navigation. This enabled us to create a level of hierarchy between information like availability and location, but then when a user wanted to find out more about the buildings, we could take over the screen and showcase some of the spaces themselves, making more of a statement.
