This site’s image overhaul brings the iconic publication’s dedication to celebrity content into the multimedia age.

It’s no secret that Interview Magazine has some of the best fashion and celebrity editorial on the newsstand. This site offers clear and direct access to extensive core content from the magazine while also offering easy and obvious access to secondary content types.

An archive section contains all of the magazine’s cover images and an alphabetical Browse feature (unfortunately at the bottom of each page) provides access to the images from feature articles. Especially unique is a link titled “Surprise Me,” under the heading “Cultural Roulette: Find Something Random for Me,” that accesses random content from the site’s archive. It’s an inventive way to surface content from older and lesser navigated areas of the site.

Rounding out the site are news headlines, a blog and a calendar section each crafted with Interview Magazine's fashion- and design-conscious target audience in mind while remaining relevant to an increasingly celebrity-obsessed world.

• The site has 1800+ videos, images, and other media elements all organized into a date-based file structure.

• From concept to completion, the site took five months to complete.

• The site is supported by a PHP/MySQL based framework and the front-end uses a mix of XHTML/CSS, JavaScript (predominantly jQuery) for lightweight interactions and Flash ActionScript 3 for embeddable video and slideshow items.
