Background: JNBY has more than 300 stores globally, mainly in China, but was not well known in Japan. We launched an e-commerce platform that would expand JNBY’s recognition in Japan. By linking Instagram and visuals, and eliminating textual information as much as possible, we created a site design after a minimalistic artboard like no other.
Design core: In creating the site, we stayed conscious of the stateless design. By removing words as much as possible, and using the minimum combination of ruled lines and images, JNBY can be felt not with words but with sensitivity.
Challenges: It was difficult to balance the design because it would be difficult to navigate if too much was cut out. We fine-tuned the UI and aimed for both ease of use and coolness.
Navigation structure: Since there is no extra content or text, users can intuitively search for products and make purchases through the site.
Technology: The site is customized and built on CS-Cart. We used Foursixty to link with Instagram.
