Background: The purpose of the site is to attract investment prospects for KD Capital, and this is done by framing the approach of the company through its tagline: “Finding the circles among the squares.”
Design core: The circular X-ray function that literally looks into the page below and reveals that on click. A simple concept that ties to the tagline and makes it all come together in UX, concept and design.
Challenges: Development took longer than we had hoped, but we were quite keen on finding the right solution for the site. We always wish we could have done some things differently but we are quite proud of the result.
New lessons: Getting a high performance with the circular X-ray effect was extremely challenging. We went through three or four different approaches to this before nailing it. On mobile, the effect is slightly different because of the different navigation with touch interfaces, but that also works quite well.
Technology: The site is build on top of Craft CMS which we often use for sites like this. So everything is fully based on the CMS and can be changed by the client themselves.
