Among the many tributes and commemorations that surrounded the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, this site takes a slightly different tack. It’s an interactive companion to the National Geographic television movie Killing Kennedy, and seeks to answer a difficult question: What forces drive one man to be president and another to become his assassin?

Mullen created a cross-platform, multi-device site that uses opposite-direction scrolling to reinforce the dual storyline. The single-page, parallax design uses the vast capabilities of HTML5 and hundreds of photos, videos, graphics and statistics to explore and consider why the lives of John F. Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald took such divergent paths before meeting on that fateful day in Dallas.
