Responses by Tom Hinz, principal, Kubikfoto.
Background: The site is designed to present us to the web. We kept focus on our projects and services so users quickly understand what Kubikfoto is all about. Our site includes a variety of different projects to show the broad scope of our work.
Favorite design: We’re proud of the site as a whole, but the most rewarding parts to create were: the cube on the landing page, which follows the cursor or gyro sensor on mobile devices; and the microanimations on every subpage.
New lessons: Being patient. Designing your own portfolio for others to see is always a designer’s toughest project. And, as always is the case with self-directed projects, the toughest thing is juggling it with finishing other projects at the same time. You’ll always have to balance client work against creating your own site.
