Background: The site’s purpose is to present the newly renovated hotel Le Grand Bellevue in the upscale resort town of Gstaad, Switzerland, and to generate more online bookings from different cities and countries.
Highlights: We organized a photo shoot to visualize all the hotel’s features. The photographs are displayed as tiles on the homepage as part of a one-page scroll experience. We also added some nice graphics to emphasize the retro aspect of the hotel experience.
Challenges: Since we wanted to produce an amazing creative online experience for the hotel, we came up with a lot of different ideas at once. It was challenging to bring our design vision to the hotel owners without having the exact details worked out. Luckily, the client gave us a lot of freedom in regards to the timing.
Navigational structure: The navigational structure works like an anchor and the homepage has many links to the different sections on the page. There are two different ways of accessing information: via navigation and via scrolling. This way, both explorative and informative users are able to access the site. With just two levels of navigationthe main page and individual detail pages—the transitions to each page are very smooth.
