Designed by Dan “Grayhood” Gneiding and Riley Cran after the “Egyptian” slab serifs of the early 20th century, Lehigh is a new slab serif typeface for use in editorials and advertising. The font’s marketing site—featuring design and development from David Silva, additional development from Kenneth Ormandy and illustrations by Marisol Ortega—acts as part of a larger campaign that includes marketing e-mails, social media assets, and poster and pin designs. The site combines functional typesetters—enabling users to test drive the typeface—with the charm of Marisol’s illustrations which compliment the personality of the typeface itself. Examples and feature highlights help potential customers learn about the typeface and its applications before purchasing.
With help from Devona, this New York–based multidisciplinary design studio imbued its site design with the essence of simplicity.
