Background: We designed and developed music label Bonsound’s website a few years ago. In addition to promoting its artists, Bonsound also created smaller music labels such as Make It Rain Records and Blow The Fuze Records. Our role was to create two microsites for the smaller labels based on the same content structure and layout, but with different visual signatures.
Highlights: Aesthetically speaking, the use of a flashy yellow background is surprising and helps the brand stand out from the many black and white websites we see out there. The skewing typography on the page transitions and page scrolls are also important element of styles that make the experience unique and memorable.
Technological features: We use SymphonyCMS, which is open source software that does not impose any data structure and no frontend framework. As soon as users land on the website, we load all the Javascript and CSS in order to give them a seamless navigation throughout the site. Then we use AJAX to simply load the HTML. For increased performance, we use Cloudflare, a cloudbased content delivery network. A lean design approach is always preferred!
