Clean and fun, prepared and happinesstactful and enthusiasm—these pairings of words make up the continuously shifting banner on the Del Mar, California–based digital design firm metajive’s homepage. It’s balance that metajive strives for in its design, positioning its solutions for clients at the convergence of commerce, creativity and technology. That’s why, on its own site, the design firm recognized that they would need to balance its content for two particular groups of people: chief marketing officers and creative directors. Case studies feature both an in-depth look at the project’s overall function—for chief marketing officers—as well as a “Details We Love” section that dives into the specifics of the project’s design, geared towards creative directors. A clean layout with a focus on making type large and legible throughout the site encourages visitors to explore not only metajive’s client work, but also its “Insights” section, which features a curated collection of articles, interviews and news about the design firm. The site features the same custom CMS that metajive implements on its clients’ sites.
