Responses by we-go.

Background: The site is the digital output of we-go’s tailor-made identity for Mixlegno Group, an Italian luxury manufacturing company whose target audience is mainly composed of interior designers and architects. As a multidisciplinary agency, we had the opportunity to develop the brand identity and all its assets, from photo shoots to print materials—it’s been a really challenging and rewarding project.

Design core: We tried to convey the values of Mixlegno’s products with a clean, timeless style, shared across every digital or print context. On the site, the design is minimal and immersive, perfect for a story in chapters. The core features are the morphing of the shapes, one for each chapter of the site’s storytelling, and the subtle use of sound throughout that enhances the immersive experience.

Challenges: One of the most challenging—but at the same time rewarding—aspects of this project was that it involved we-go’s entire team. Too often, digital projects have a narrow scope, but when you are able to tie them into a broader communication project, the result is far more satisfying. Another challenging task was combining content creation with information architecture: mixing copy, images, videos and sound in a coherent narration.

Navigation structure: We based the navigation mainly around the abstract concepts that we used to tell the story of the company, and to describe its identity and its achievements. We developed a dedicated video for the homepage to introduce the four chapters that—by a careful mix of copy and images—drives the user through the essential values of the company. The morphing of the shapes and the characteristic interaction design bond the contents and create a cohesive experience.

Technology: We developed the site using Vue.js with a custom back end. The goal was to create a completely dynamic, immersive site that would be easily manageable by the client, with particular focus on performance and page speed. For this reason, we moved towards a front end framework with Due.js and a lightweight back-end solution.

From a technology point of view, we are proud of how we managed to translate the original design that mixed videos, images and vectorial elements into an effective digital experience.
