Established in 1858, the historic Nobbys Lighthouse has been an emblem of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia; the headland on which it’s built offers 360-degree views of the city, its suburb Stockton and the nearby Hunter River. To promote the lighthouse’s revitalization, Newcastle-based design firm Shorthand was tasked with condensing the past and the future of Nobbys Lighthouse into a one-page microsite. Built the site in the SilverStripe CMS, the site’s elegant solution organizes the lighthouse’s extensive collection of content into a series of slideshows that link images with copy; this way, users can filter through the content easily without needing to skim through multiple pages. Shorthand’s site has raised awareness of both the history behind Nobbys Lighthouse and the work that its leaseholder, the business improvement association Newcastle Now, has done to breathe new life into this local landmark.
With a new site from Design Studio, this media and production company is positioned as India’s premier storyteller.
