Background: This project started with a simple question: “Why do all luxury real estate developers talk about exclusivity using exactly the same visual and verbal codes?” Normal Is Boring became the answer—a statement of intent based on the belief that extraordinary brands cannot be built by repeating conventional formulas. This website had to turn that idea into an experience. Rather than showcasing homes, it presents a different way of understanding architecture, where design, emotion and lifestyle take precedence over the properties themselves.
Design core: The visual identity and website are built around an editorial design language, clean compositions, generous white space, a refined use of color and a carefully balanced typographic system with a strong graphic presence. The architecture is intentionally restrained and never dominates the composition; the true focus is the brand positioning.
Animation is not used as a spectacle or decorative effect. Instead, it supports the narrative by gradually revealing the content. Every transition is designed to evoke the same feeling embodied by the brand: discovering something exceptional without having to explain it explicitly.
Favorite details: What we value most is the consistency between strategy, identity and digital experience. The naming, visual identity, storytelling, tone of voice and interactions all stem from the same central idea: the ordinary is not an option.
When visitors reach the end of the experience, they will remember the feeling of having encountered a brand unlike any other in the sector. Our primary objective was to create a digital experience capable of expressing a brand positioning rather than presenting a product.
Challenges: If the brand positioning was about challenging the traditional codes of the luxury real estate sector, the website itself could not resemble a conventional real estate website. This meant rethinking the narrative, the reading pace, the content hierarchy and the presentation of the architecture.
The challenge was to innovate without sacrificing clarity. We wanted to create a distinctive experience while remaining elegant, intuitive and accessible.
New lessons: The project reinforced something we have learned over the years—the strongest brands are built around a clear concept. When there is a strong central idea, every subsequent decision—from strategy and visual identity to storytelling, user experience and development—becomes more coherent and meaningful. It also reaffirmed our working methodology, which moves from the most abstract level of strategy and positioning to the final digital experience.
Navigation structure: We conceived of the navigation structure as an architectural journey rather than a conventional website structure. In architecture, a building is not experienced in a single glance—it is experienced by moving through it. We translated that same principle into the digital environment by combining vertical and horizontal scrolling, evoking the transition between different spaces and enabling the brand to unfold progressively. Movement becomes a narrative device that reinforces the feeling of exploring a space throughout the experience; in this way, the website adopts its own spatial language.
Technology: This project was designed entirely in Figma and developed through a fully custom WordPress implementation. The front end was built using CSS, HTML and JavaScript, with GSAP serving as the primary engine for animations and interactions. The back end was custom developed to provide flexible content management without compromising the visual experience or performance.
Special technical features: Beyond the visual experience, we wanted the website to be a practical, scalable platform capable of evolving alongside the brand. To achieve this, we developed a fully custom WordPress CMS based on a modular architecture using Advanced Custom Fields. This enables the client to create new projects, developments and content completely independently while preserving the site’s visual consistency, animations and overall structure. The client has full autonomy to manage every aspect of the website without relying on the development team.
