Background: A powerhouse in South American production, Ocean Films brings more than 20 years of Brazilian roots and global rigor to the table. The company makes sure that every project flows effortlessly from start to finish no matter the location. Now as part of the Twentyfour Seven Group, it has seized this new chapter to launch a brand new website.
Design core: Our goal was to create a truly tactile interaction. Inspired by the classic iPod click wheel—a masterpiece of touch design—we engineered a circular viewer with a strict 1:1 response to movement. We layered direct motion with eased animations to make the digital experience feel physically grounded.
Favorite details: Beyond the interface itself, we implemented a smart video loader to ensure near-instant response times.
Challenges: The wheel. In fact, the whole experience. Beyond building the wheel logic from absolute zero, we had to develop a video system responsive enough to feel like you’re using video editing software.
Technology: We created a headless architecture using WordPress for the back end and Eleventy, GSAP and a custom JavaScript framework for the front end.
