London-based illustrator, set designer and art director Owen Gildersleeve needed a portfolio site that would cohesively showcase both his commercial illustration work as well as his larger-scale, collaborative projects. Created in partnership with digital design studio Oh My! and built with the Craft CMS, Gildersleeve’s new site prominently features both his studio and his illustrations, seamlessly enabling visitors to browse projects from both. “The Oh My! team came up with this lovely idea of the site being on a carousel where you can easily scroll between the two sides,” says Gildersleeve. “We also left a small sliver of the other section still visible on each of the pages, hinting that there is more of the site to be seen.” The side-by-side homepage features a two-color palette that flips for each side, changing the tone of the site and visually separating the two types of work.
