Background: Page\Park is an award-winning architectural practice from Glasgow, Scotland. The site provides an intimate look into its projects, recognizing the individual inputs that drive the work. It’s designed to be a never-ending journey with no pages acting as dead ends—always constantly linking between projects, practice and thinking. In addition, the site is also the first project within a larger ongoing collaboration exploring Page\Park’s visual identity and communication.
Highlights: The site houses a wealth of information built with lots of different content types, ranging from galleries and videos to more specialist architectural 3-D renders.
Challenges: Since this site has so many parts, one of the main challenges was to not overwhelm or confuse visitors. Clean layouts with an unfussy user interface helped distill information and keep the focus on Page\Park’s content.
Navigational structure: Clear labeling of cards, dropdown filter systems and simple breadcrumb navigation all became useful additions to the site.
Technical features: We spent a lot of time trying to make the page loading animations and the hover interactions between each element consistent and natural. The site responds nicely to mobile, and we used WordPress for the backend to give the practice full control to easily build and amend web pages in-house without the continual need for a developer.
