For Panike, a Portuguese bakery chain, Coimbra- and Porto-based design agency Bürocratik designed a new site that acts as the tip of the iceberg for an international campaign. Focusing on the people who enjoy Panike, Bürocratik’s site puts customer experiences first, showing how Panike provides enjoyment throughout the day. Retina-optimized cinemagraphs and field recordings mixed with a brand theme song enhances the experience on the site. A section on sustainability also highlights Panike’s commitment to its community and the environment; illustrations become animated as visitors scroll down the page.
The development of Panike’s site posed one major challenge: showcasing its collection of more than 600 products. Bürocratik paid special attention to optimizing site performance with the high-quality product photos exported in a range of sizes—from thumbnail to mobile to desktop—all done in the site’s WordPress CMS. Since its launch, Panike’s site has gotten more than 21,000 pageviews and 12,000 visits from 119 different countries, hugely impacting the bakery’s presence in the international business-to-business supply scene.
