Background: As a content and ad agency, Pereira O’Dell is influenced by digital culture and focuses on creating cross-disciplinary campaigns for progressive marketers. Working with the highest level of film directors, Pereira O’Dell has won thousands of awards, including Emmys and Oscars, in addition to all the standard industry accolades. Our challenge was to portray the agency’s work with the quality and care our client puts into its own work.
Highlights: We wanted to welcome users with an immediate glimpse of the work they are going to see. We used a refined color palette with black, white and gold accents. We wanted to have the large playful typography lend a modern feel to the classic type treatment.
Challenges: Maintaining the responsive grid throughout all layout sizes.
Favorite details: The animation touches on the site felt natural to the elegant site experience, while not being the main focus.
Navigational structure: We wanted to keep everything straightforward, as most users on the site would want their information as fast as possible. Since we wanted to focus on clear communication, we used large type and direct copy to make sure the more important messages had a clear hierarchy. With a minimum of sixteen-point type we kept copy to a minimum; if it’s on the page we want users to read it.
Technical features: We created a modular framework that allows our client to build its own case studies from a series of ten distinct modules. This allows the client to display the work with the format that fits the project. This flexibility is both a technical and a design challenge, as each module needs to maintain its own responsive patterns while feeling connected.
