Responses by The First The Last Agency.
Background: This website’s purpose is to replace the old website and provide new business instruments for Berlin-based international booking agency PointCollective, which represents more than 20 talents from around the world. The site provides techno music lovers with exclusive access to events, news and merchandise while also serving as the one-stop shop for promoters interested in booking Point Collective’s artists.
Design core: The website works not just as a list of all artists but binds merchandise, news and events related to the artist or label represented by Point Collective. It lets a fan, promoter or venue owner find everything related to that artist and book them instantly.
The design style comes from our long-term affection for the Berlin techno club scene. An epilepsy-inducing 404 page and acidic mode are big parts of the style.
Favorite details: Turning vinyls and columns simultaneously running in opposite directions are small but cool details we like. And, of course, we are really proud to work with the agency that represents some of our favorite electronic artists and DJs, whose music we listened to long before this collaboration.
Challenges: Establishing the interlink between all assets and making sure the back-end part delivered an effortless, error-free experience.
Time constraints: At some point, we understood we had to introduce a product approach to the delivery process. After the launch, we gathered feedback from the website owners and users and will have another iteration to improve user experience and efficiency of the system.
Divergent paths: We would definitely create more detailed technical specification before moving onto development projects because we had to rebuild certain parts of the website to meet our client’s needs.
New lessons: Detailed specifications and better communication are golden when it comes to creating something unique.
Navigation structure: The client insisted on featuring all the latest information on the main page. It may seem a bit cluttered at first, but you can easily navigate through and explore important items or go directly to purchase.
