Background: Polugar is not a very well-known brand—not too many people know that it’s actually a historical Russian vodka created in the early 19th century. This site increases awareness of the liquor brand through an online presence. Its main audience consists of professionals in the industry—bartenders, resellers and different exhibitions or events—who want to learn more about Polugar.
Core features: The site features a simple design with microinteractions that make the overall user experience memorable.
Favorite details: We built an animated pattern that unveils itself when the user moves her or his cursor. It helps elevate simple content pages to exciting experiences and brings up a very subtle element of the Polugar brand without making the site too heavy. We’re also in love with the way the “Inspirations” page is built: users can scroll between recipes and see them one by one without using the main site navigation.
Navigation design: We wanted visitors to use the navigation as infrequently as possible and let the site drive the flow by itself. This is why we paid special attention to a scroll feature that enables users to navigate between sections and content pages, as well as lets them discover links to other sections.
Technology: We used Vue.js and are really pleased with this choice. It enabled us to create smooth transitions between pages without reloading, which we believe is old school. Our code is short, clean and effects all the optimization rates at a high score.
