For the fourth year in a row, mountain sports brand Quechua contracted Lyon, France–based digital studio Akaru to create a site for its annual spring/summer lookbook. Keeping a global overview at the forefront of its design, Akaru designed and developed a site that offers a continuous experience, available to everyone on desktop, tablet and mobile interfaces. Full keyboard navigation makes an immersive experience; users can press M, O or the spacebar to open the menu, and X, C or the escape key to close the menu. The site features full background images, animated through HTML Canvas Drawing to improve online performance. Akaru combined neat design, simple user interactions and sharp animations to convey a feeling of travel to users through an efficient experience.
