Bern, Switzerland–based development and interaction design studio Roger Burkhard tapped Gothenburg, Sweden–based design firm Lundgren+Lindqvist for a complete redesign of its visual identity. Following the guidelines that Lundgren+Lindqvist outlined in its design, Roger Burkhard created its new portfolio site. Built around a flexible, modular grid, the site’s UI elements have been kept to a minimum, enabling the development and interaction studio’s work to speak for itself. Built in the WordPress CMS with a CSS-, HTML- and JavaScript-coded front end, the site is built as a one-page application with extensive use of caching and both asychronous and lazy loading, ensuring a high performance on any browser. Following Lundgren+Lindqvist’s minimal aesthetic in the brand, Roger Burkhard kept the site as minimalistic as possible, keeping the navigation only visible on rollover in the desktop version and activating it by touch on mobile devices and tablets; this navigation system keeps the user’s focus on the content. The site has been featured widely on design blogs and received praise from the community online.
