The creative director of writing at Plovdiv, Bulgaria–based digital design agency Bonne Marque, Samuel Burrows offers visitors more than just his work and awards on his new portfolio site. Created in collaboration with Bonne Marque’s executive creative director and founder Alexander Engzell and digital developer and designer Jesper Landberg, the site showcases Burrows’s profound writing by taking visitors on a journey into moments of his past. Marrying form and function, Burrows chose a single scrolling page to convey his story, which immerses readers in his life experiences. Subtle parallax effects on the images aid his writing by drawing the reader’s attention to each new part of the site’s “About” section. The site also serves as a testament to the writer’s personal mission to elevate the quality of ad and design copywriting. “At present, there is too much unimaginative or pun-heavy copywriting,” Burrows says. “This is a battle that could take years to win, but there are great designers out there and plenty of incredible design that deserves better.”
970 Design created an elegantly simple website to house the foundation’s complicated missions.
