A United Kingdom–based media company, The City Talking (TCT) produces magazines and feature-length documentary films inspired by cities. Wanting to refresh their brand, they turned to Leeds, United Kingdom–based creative studio Rabbit Hole.
TCT’s site is a continuation of the work Rabbit Hole has been doing with them on their brand. Created as a visual representation of their disruptive journalistic style, the website design sets up basic frames around the site and then allows images to break them. One of the main features of the site is flexibility, in giving full power to writers to create his or her own content flow. To do this, Rabbit Hole built each element (videos, galleries, articles, products, reviews, to name a few) as a separate content widget. With these separate widgets, writers can choose to reference as much or as little as they would like without having to think about design or code. Completed in three weeks, Rabbit Hole continues to work on adding more widgets to the website’s toolbox for extra flexibility, as they know they’ll need it.
