Informing both students and the general public of the impact, significance and importance of design, this site presents compelling exhibitions, unique products and interactive games that deal with the broad and ever-expanding field of graphic design.

Created and directed by Alan Robbins, with design and programming by Mike Sickinger, it serves as an educational resource and, along with a companion print newsletter, a promotional tool for The Design Center and its many projects and services. Singular from the standpoint that design is referred to in a very broad sense (the process by which everything—images, products, graphics, fashion—is made), it combines a wide range of topics and materials in a graphically clear, intuitive interface.

A continuous work in progress, it's extended and expanded with new information and exhibitions by one or two students each year who help create some of the content and concepts.

• With text, buttons, scrollers, animations and symbols, the site has over 1,000 images.

• Mostly Flash with some HTML files, the 41.8MB site (with approximately 1,038 SWFs/files/folders) is well-organized by folders and a file structure broken into seven main modules.

• Some of the more well-known features help to promote the site. As an example, available on the site is a pointing chart, used by patients who can’t speak to communicate their needs. The Talk Chart, created by the school's design students is now used by 2,000 hospitals throughout the country.
