A crowd of Os converges between a V and the remaining letters in Volkshaus, the name of a community event space in Zürich. This little interactivity quickly communicates Volkshaus’s purpose on its site, created by Zürich-based creative agency Y7K and designer Raffinerie. “Since the website is for a community building, we wanted to visualize how people interact at Volkshaus in an abstract and engaging way,” says Ruben Feurer, partner and art director at Y7K. “The tricky part was to figure out how we needed to adjust the animation and interaction to make these circles feel human and alive.” Y7K used P5.js to fine-tune the flocking animation of the Os, which is tracked to the visitor’s mouse. Built with the Craft CMS, the site features images of the Volkhaus space and upcoming events, as well as articles and galleries that prove Volkshaus’s importance to the history of Zürich.
