Dublin-based digital studio WONDR marked its second anniversary with a new site that shows off its attitude with advanced animation effects, including triangular transitions between pages, and video content on key pages. A video background of floating lanterns greets visitors on the homepage, a flock of birds flying above a lagoon provide the background for the “Work With Us” page and a number of videos introduce each of WONDR’s case studies, helping to create an atmosphere that conveys the firm’s personality. “Having designed agency websites in past roles, it was refreshing to focus on [the site’s] mood as opposed to the usual listing of capabilities,” says Dermot O’Shea, WONDR’s co-founder. The backend uses a mix of Laravel, PHP and CookBook, and the frontend was developed with Backbone.js, scalable vector graphics and CSS.
