For the site, Moscow-based design firm Sulliwan Studio created a custom management system, developed with Python and the framework Django. A calm, dark color theme with white typography suffuses the site, providing a focusing atmosphere. Video archives, extensive photo libraries, illustrated portraits and in-depth profiles all help to artfully present the global chess scene to visitors. Sulliwan Studio also enabled live streaming of chess games on the site with a bespoke system using Tornado servers and RabbitMQ server-to-server messaging.
