For nearly 70 years, Porsche has created sports cars that are unlike anything the world has ever seen. To introduce the world to the new Porsche Panamera—the latest in the automobile brand’s line of sports cars—ad agency Cramer-Krasselt created a campaign centered around this site that celebrates Porsche’s ingenious spirit and penchant for creating disruptive cars. An interactive timeline highlights eight of Porsche’s historically important models, beginning with the 1948 Porsche 356 and ending with the new Panamera. When the navigation is activated, the cars quickly cycle through the screen, conveying the feeling of traveling backwards or forwards through time. Visitors can also explore the Panamera model through video content that showcases its features and a 360-degree tour of its interior. Throughout the site, subtle parallax effects imbue depth and movement to headlines and images. On a desktop computer, these effects are cursor-based; when visitors reach the site on mobile devices, these effects become linked to the mobile devices’ internal gyroscope, mimicking the desktop experience.
This site celebrates both the design firm’s decennial anniversary as well as the opening of its new London office.
